Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a visionary poet, who conceived the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims. The idea was eventually materialized on 14th august 1947 in the shape of Pakistan. 83rd death anniversary is being commemorated today to pay homage to his tireless services for the Muslims of the Sub-continent.
He was born in Sialkot on 9th November 1877. His poetry mostly has messages for the youth, his work is still remembered. His epic work has been translated into several different languages. Although he propagated the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims, he could not witness the independence plan being materialized as he passed away in 1938.
